“Critical Conversations for Parents and Children” Presentation on May 2, 2026

Raising your children in the Christian faith is becoming more and more challenging every day, isn’t it? Each child has his or her own needs, of course, and parents are uniquely qualified to address them. To assist them, Matt Riley and his colleagues at BeBroken Ministries have identified “Critical Conversations” that parents can have with their children at various stages in their development.

Matt Riley, a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Crossingville, PA, will be coming to St. John the Baptist Church in Canonsburg (601 Boone Avenue, Canonsburg, PA) on May 2, 2026 to talk about these “Critical Conversations,” especially those about emotions, identity, and trust, with children as young as 5, and going on into adolescence. We would like to make this program as accessible as possible for parents of young children, so we are providing child care and a meal for all those who want it.

Our evening will begin with Vespers at 5:00 p.m., for those who can make it, and afterwards, a light supper will be served. Children can go first in line, and they can eat together in a nearby classroom. Matt will begin his presentation in the church hall as soon as the other attendees have picked up their food, and the evening’s activities should be over by about 7:30 p.m.

Please mark your calendar! We feel that these issues deserve our earnest attention, and we hope that you will join us for this presentation.

If you plan to come, or if you have any questions, please email Deacon John Thompson at johntlibrarian@gmail.com to let him know how many people will be eating supper and what are the ages of your children who will need child care.
